Karla has been working in and around the advertising and music industry for nearly 15 years. Starting in dispatch at an advertising agency she worked her way into the creative department where she scribbled on blank paper for about 5 years. Having a musical background she naturally gravitated across to producing at a recording studio that specialized in music for post and advertising. That later lead her to work for legendary record company, and home to AC/DC, Albert Music were she managed their recording studios. With a Masters degree in Arts Management under her belt, the call came to submerge herself back into the world of music for advertising and Nylon were lucky enough to have her join their team.
A native Brooklynite raised on Long Island, Christina’s eclectic love of music stemmed from her flower child Mother and doo-wop singing Father, who filled the car with their musical stylings on family road trips. She surely knew Jim Morrison and Dion and the Belmonts before Barbie and Rainbow Brite, and this passion for music accelerated the moment she hit the central New York airwaves as a radio DJ in college. Her appreciation of all genres encouraged her to broadcast a wide variety of tunes and, years later, led her to a career in music production for commercials, as the broad spectrum of daily creative briefs enabled her to quench this musical A.D.D.
Halle Petro sang before she could speak. Although her mouth sometimes gets her into trouble, in the past it allowed her to work as an off-broadway actor, assistant to a famed Hollywood film mogul and, as an ever aspiring musician, writing and producing records with her band The Jilt. She makes her way to Nylon having escaped a career on Wall Street to tour with her band, playing everywhere from Vermont to California, including the famed Yoshi's in San Francisco. Nylon is a natural fit as it allows her to tackle music as a producer, and brand development as head of NY marketing.

Frances credits her love of music to the upright piano that sat at home unnoticed for many years before she turned 12. Marvelled by the fact that she had creation at her fingertips (no pun intended), Frances taught herself the basics of music theory and piano. Not long after, she formed an overt love affair with Green Day whose songs “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” inspired her to learn guitar making her rockstar fantasies seem a little more real. Fast forward 10 years, and Frances finds herself in the driver’s seat of her music career having graduated with a Bachelor of Music; writing, producing and releasing music of her own; performing on the streets and at over a hundred weddings and corporate events; and working with the Nylon Team.
Xanthe has spent most of her life studying acting and voice work, having graduated from NIDA’s Bachelor of Dramatic Art in 2014. With that in mind, it was a happy accident that she found herself at Nylon, in the thick of the voiceover world. Xanthe came to Nylon off the back of a Helpmann Award-winning national tour of the play Sugarland. Earlier in 2016 she performed a lead role Off-Broadway in New York, where she picked up a New York Times front page photo and review, a healthy dose of frost nip, and a husband (no, really).
Some say “Nylon Front Desk” is Xanthe’s greatest role to date. You be the judge.
